Windows appears ‘behind’ the original screen RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi. We are deploying Windows 7 and are system testing applications on it.  We're finding that often when either an application or the browser opens a new window, this window appears ‘behind’ the original screen.  This creates significant problems for our users as they do not recognize that there is another window where they can take action.  Sometimes the hidden window requires the user to respond with an action to continue a process, and because they cannot see the message no action is taken.  Is this a Windows 7 issue, because the same applications don't behave this way in Windows XP.

  • When does the issue occur? For one scenario, it will lost focus if you click start orb and by default cursor should be "Search programs and files" until you click orb or press Win key again. Otherwise, you can try process explorer and find the hidden application:

    Hope this helps!
