DHCP - HAVE (2) DHCP SERVERS - UNABLE TO CONFIGURE HOT STANDBY FAILOVER MODE (SERVER 2012 R2) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear Experts,

We have (2) DHCP servers and I'd like to configure them for hot standby mode.  However, when I right-click on IPv4 as screenshots in tutuorial have shown, I see a blank screen for "Available scopes."  See my screenshot.  Any idea why?  Any other way(s) to set it up without going through the method.  We have had 3 working scopes for years, although not optimal at all.

  • Hi Vci,

Please ensure you have not configured failover on this DHCP server.

Please right-click DHCP scope, and please check if configure failover option exist.

    Best Regards

    John

  • Sorry for the delay in response, but when I click on a node, and right-click a scope, yes - Configure Failover exists.  Picture attached.
