  • Hi

I have a question regarding the internal interface facing the internal network. Is it possible to put DMZ2 on the interface and then use static route instead of a default gateway?

  • Yes, but the Clients have also to connect to the mediation server but you can configure a second NIC for the routing to the SIP provider

  • Hi

  • Hi I´m about to install en Mediation server for ONLY Dial-In purpose. The Lync is a 2010 standard edition. The network people want to put the mediation server between two DMZ networks and only open up the port required for Dial-In conferencing. The purpose is that they don´t want the internal Mediation NIC to be directly located on the production network. The question is if it´s possible to do this with static route to the internal network? I don´t see why it should not work as long you open up the right ports for Lync communication and AD, replication integration? The external NIC will communicate on port TCP SIP 5060 to and from the providers IP address. We have also specified the port range 5000-30.000 to the external provider. According to the provider you can change the EXTERNAL range from the default 5000 to 30.000? I have only found how to change default mediation port range 49152-57500 (Set-CsMediationServer). Is there any difference of media port from external part to and from the internal? How exactly do the media traffic flow through the mediation server? Should you see the mediation service as a Bridge of the traffic and changes the codec if required? Do the media flow keep the same port number from external provider to the Front End Server?

The next hop is the Front End server. According to the settings and Protocol Workloads http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=6797 the Port range is default 49152-57500 and can be changed. STUN/TCP:443 and UDP:3478 for incoming event to Mediation server should not be necessary when only using Dial-In Conferencing. Port number to service traffic assignment are specified on their own but not specified with a server role?

According to Technet port 5072 and 5073 need to be manage for Dial-In conferencing.

For server to server communication port 5070 is used for incoming SIP request from the Front End Server to the Mediation. Why is this port not mention in Protocol Workloads? http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg398833.aspx

Is there any port list for port required for active directory connected server in DMZ?

    Best Regard

    Daniel
