  what version? and whats the full error message you get when you try to run it

  and make a double click on the file to import it.
  
  When an application crashes like the WMP, Windows Error Reporting Service [1] creates a dmp file under C:\Localdumps. Please upload the WMP dump (zip it first) to your public Skydrive [2] folder and post the link here. I take a look at the dump with the Debugger, maybe I can see the cause.

  Hi,

   

  First, I would like to confirm that if there is any programs or updates installed before the issue occurs.

   

  You may refer to the following KB article to troubleshoot it:

   

  Windows Media Player stops responding after you install a third-party product that registers its own version of the Wmp.dll file

   

  If the issue persists, please let me know if there is any other third party players installed. You may boot in Clean Boot to test this issue.
