Workflow to custom applications RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi guys,

I've started to use FIM 2010 to workflow users/groups from a portal DB into FIM then into an LDS. This all works ok.

Now i need to workflow the creation of these users into another application. To do this they have there own API - which is actually shell commands executed against LINUX boxes.

I'm wondering what is the best way to achieve this? Is there management agents that can run command line (.bat) scripts that i can write which will execute the shell scripts?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Simon

  • You can write an XMA that runs the shell scripts remotely. ere's one I wrote many years ago now for MIIS, but the principal (and the code) is exactly the same. http://www.wapshere.com/missmiis/an-xma-to-create-apache-websites

  • Aside from an XMA, another option would be a custom workflow activity that does the one-off SSH calls.
