Sharepoint 2010 using multiple versions of Microsoft products RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is it possible to use Sharepoint when users have different versions of Microsoft? For instance some of the people in our company have 2010 and some are still on 2007 and below.  Or does everyone have to be upgraded to 2010?

yes,  In a company one can make use of different version of SharePoint (MOSS 2007 , SharePoint 2010) . In real world  this how it works in different organization.

But if the older verion of sharepoint  2007 want to liverage more enhance feature which are provided by SharePoint 2010 or OOB then it will be recommended to migrate to single unified platform. But this is purely depends on the application , it functionality and above all Budget .

  • Hello,

Are you talking about MS office or infopath products?

Since sharepoint version supports supports IE, Office etc very well so you need to provide details. If it is infopath or other office components then you don't need to update those versions because they are supported in both SP 2007 and 2010 versions.
