I have a small network with the SBS 2008 server running as a domain controller. It has IIS7 running on it as well. What I am trying to do is develop small web apps and then test them on the server in a directory other than under wwwroot or at
least in their own subfolder under wwwroot.
I can create a site in IIS7 manager just fine. but I cannot seem to figure out the proper authentication, authority or whatever. Also, no matter what address i try, I get either a 403 (access denied) error or 404 (it's just not found).
I try to look it up in my workstation browser as http://server:80 (or whatever port I assigned) or i try server.domain.local.
Nothing works at all.
I've been doing research for 3 days and am at the end of my rope.
Several years ago I did Server 2003 standard and IIS6 and had figured it out, but this has me stumped.
