  • Hi damac,

can you tell us the platform of most and the platform of some? eg. are most x64 and some x86? Windows 7 or 8.1? Proxy connected?

I think the following forum thread may provide a solution for you.

  • Hi,

This behavior may occur if certain dynamic-link library files (.dll files) are not registered correctly or if there is a firewall between the computer and the Internet that does not allow HTTPS (SSL) connections.

To resolve this behavior, use the regsvr32 command to reregister several .dll files:
    1. Click Start, click Run, type cmd in the Open box, and then click OK.
    2. At the command prompt, type the following commands. Press ENTER after each line:

      regsvr32 Softpub.dll
      regsvr32 Wintrust.dll
      regsvr32 Initpki.dll
    3. Click OK.
    4. Restart your computer.

Then, check if you can fix this issue.

so I need to open my internet up for this update to go thru, that's crazy

can I set the msi to run as a specific account and give that account open internet access

Please do running commands below as admin to scan DLL error:

    SFC /SCANNOW

Then, check if your issue can be fixed.
