    hi! for polycom hardphone that's serve the area like lobby, what's the better way of doing the configuration rather than creating a user account in AD and have that user id login into the phone? Is there anyway we disallow user from logging off from that common area phone, and loggin with another user account? Thanks.

    The recommended way to do it is creating an AD Contact object and enable the IP Phone with that.

    For devices located in Common Areas it is recommended to deploy a Lync Common Area Phone account; see this article for detailed instructions:

    You cannot prevent Lync users from signing-in to the device, but a quick sign-out or reboot of the phone will return it to the Common Area account by default.
