How to uninstall applications in SCCM 2012 R2 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    We have installed following applications using "Applications" mode of SCCM 2012 R2.

    XML Notepad

    Notepad++

    Adobe Reader XI

    How do we uninstall these applications from clients using SCCM 2012 R2? Do we create deployment type for each and uninstall?

  • Uninstalls are separate deployments.  But, not separate DTs.  You should have that line configured in the Deployment Type.  I would use a different collection for that and move the clients into the uninstall collection unless you want to remove it from all.

  • You can configure an install and uninstall command line for each deployment type. Then there are 'install' and 'uninstall' deployments. Uninstall deployments can be used to uninstall software. Keep in mind that an install deployments wins over an uninstall deployment if both are deployed to the same machine.
