Have you tried right clicking the installation file and selecting the 'Run As Administrator' option?

    Hope this helps.

  • In Windows 7, this is not an option with an MSI. Only an executable. I am having the same issue trying to install MS Publisher. NONE of the registry fixes have worked, nor have the permissions in the Administative area in Control Panel. I have Googled and Binged all over the place, yet none of the solutions I have tried work.

It is a home computer and I have Administrative rights, needless to say. Maybe I should go back to Vista. Btw, I did try right-clicking and Properties/Compatibility with previous versions of Windows. Nada.

Yeah, I know I should have waited for Windows 7.1.
