Just wondering ,why "_msdcs" color is little bit fade than others from dnsmgmt.msc?

  The reason is _msdcs. zone is delegated to itself & you can see _msdcs folder outside the zone in your domain, this is normal.

  The reason for delegation is, if you have child domain & you want them to be authoritative for their respective domain you delegate them.

  Hello,

  i assume you talk about the grey one? This is cold a delegation and is not a zone. See also "DNS Delegation, Forwarders" in:

  http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc784494(WS.10).aspx

  See also: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/817470/ for creating the maybe missing _msdcs.domain.com zone, which was not available with Windows 2000 server DNS.
