Delegation Issue : While approving timesheets RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

We are using project server delegation functionality where chief of staff would be approving the timesheets submitted by the resources on behalf of the resource manager.

Chief of staff will use delegate functionality in project server, and will work as a resource manager. And approve the timesheets submitted by the resource.

Every thing working fine , expect , the timesheet status is showing as approved, and approved by : Chief Of Staff (This is wrong , it should display as resource manager).

Please any one let me know if this is designed like this/ or a bug in the system.

    Thanks & Regards

  • Ravishankar,

It ios by design. Since Timesheet data could be the input for financial systems in some companies, I think the desicgn decision was to show who actually approved the timesheet, rather than the user who is being delegated.

The system is working as designed.  Even though he was using the Delegation feature, it WAS the Chief of Staff who approved the timesheet.  That is why the system lists him this way.  Hope this helps.

  • Is there anyway we can hide the COS name and display the manager name instead?
