bad blocks on volumes RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

since 4 weeks every night we got messages like this on our DPM:

    Sys: E 'Mon Jun 05 01:00:06 2011': Disk - " The device, _Device_Harddisk4_DR4, has a bad block. "

So we deleted the storage-pool and create a new one on another NAS. Our DPM connects per iSCSI to Volumens on the new NAS.

Works fine for about 2 days and today we got same messages again:

    Sys: E 'Thu Jun 16 01:00:04 2011': Disk - " The device, _Device_Harddisk5_DR7, has a bad block. "

How can i solve this Problem?
chkdsk doesn't work in iSCSI Volumens.

  • Hi

Does your NAS have a CHKDSK function in the webserver? If so, run it. What NAS do you have? Brand, model etc?

  • Hi,

it's a Thecus N8800PRO without CHKDSK function in the webfrontend.

Seems to me like an general problem, or how is it possible to check the dynamic disk by DPM for errors?
    I think assign a drive-letter isn't possible?

    Best Regards
