  • Quota Management is only available with Windows 2003 R2. If you have R2, then enable this feature from Add/Remove programs and Try.

  • I’m sure that MS Server 2003 does support Quotas, but this just looks at the whole disk.

MS Server 2003 R2 enabled you to put a Quota on a folder which becomes more useful, along with this you can stop users from adding file types such as jpg, bmp, exe, etc. I find it a very useful tool.

R2 is an upgrade that you have to pay for; it is not like a free Service Pack.

Hope this is of use to you.

  • Hello,

    1.  Yes you can enable disk quota on Windows 2003 and it does not have to be R2.
    2.  You can only enable disk quota on a volume.  You cannot enable it at the folder level. (I am not sure about folder level on R2, haven't tried it)
