Exchange 2010 Event ID 9331 & 9335 once Generate OAB RRS feed

  • Question

  • Exchange 2010 Event ID 9331 & 9335 once Generate OAB

we just migrated single exchange 2003 to exchange 2010, one server holds all necessary roles, exchange 2003 uninstalled.
we are now getting Event ID 9331 and 9335 once update OAB at each 5:00. Outlook 2003 client can't successfully download OWA,  sounds no OBA available.

below are some info. any suggestions will be highly appreciated.

[PS] C:\>set-publicfolder -Identity "\NON_IPM_SUBTREE\OFFLINE ADDRESS BOOK\/o=Mycompany/cn=addrlists/cn=oabs/cn=Default Offline Address List" -replicas "myserver\Second Storage Group\Public Folder Database"

above cmd is OK? not fully understand, any influence to my single exchange 2010 server?

the above cmd worked for my system, but we solved by EMC, see below for reference. sounds like the MS BUG for migration path of exchange 2003 to 2010.

EMC Toolbox Public Folder Management Console System Public Folders OFFLINE ADDRESS BOOK

Right click the properties of the default OABs subfolder at the right window under OFFLINE ADDRESS BOOK

And then add the replication to your public folder database, solved this problem, server can update the default OAB and the Outlook 2003 can download the OAB.

    ori wrong setting:

  • First, if there is no Outlook 2003 clients in your organization, we don't need to publish OAB to Public folder. What we need to do is just disabling Public Folder publish to stop the above error event ID.

If we need to enable Public Folder publishing, please create a new  OAB and refer to microsoft article below:

    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/dgoldman/archive/2006/10/15/generating-a-newly-created-offline-address-book-fails-with-errors-9331-and-9335.aspx

    Hope it is helpful.
