Oracle Client on Vista Business RRS feed

  • I recently upgraded to Vista Business at work. When trying to install Oracle Client 10g on vista, i continue to get the following error message: Abnormal program termination, please send the following files to Oracle support: "Unknown, Unknown, Unknown"

    I have done the following to correct the issue:

    1) Set to XP compatibility mode - no success
    2) went back (still in XP compatibility mode) and ran as administrator - no success

    Any suggestions on what i can do next or should i wait to see if Oracle puts out an upgrade for Vista compatibility?

  • I have exactly the same problem with an Oracle 9i client, version 9.0.1.0

    At the end of the installtion I get an Access Violation in jrew.exe, module kernel32.dll.

    I need Oracle 9i to install under Vista business, since other clients do not work proberly with my Oracle application.

  • Hi

     

    I had exactly the same issue, however i found a solution on the oracle metalink site. You require the 10G Release 2 (10.2.0.3) client. This client is backward compatible so you should be able to access your 9i database with this client.
