  • Hi,

Can you verify your Reportpath that you might have mentioned inside your report. How did you deploy your RDL file to SharePoint document library is it using BIDS or Report Builder?

  • Thanks for reply,

    I have two servers, dev,dev2 (windows 2003)

    dev contains central admin, site

dev2 serv is webfront added to dev with reports server database in sharepoint integration mode.

I deployed the reports using BIDS from dev2 to dev. The reports are delployed succesfully

i checked the path in report properties , it looks correct for me

    targetdatasourcefolder  https://dev/reportsite/documentfolder/datasourcefolder
    Targetreportfolder        https://dev/reportsite/documentfolder/reportsfolder
    targetserverURL           https://dev

is some thing wrong in this

    please let me know

  • Hi,

Path seems to be correct. I have a doubt whether SSRS is installed and configured correctly to use SharePoint integration mode.

As you are using https can you check your configuration file (reportserver.config) whether SecureConnectionLevel is set=2

    I have couple of questions,

    1) Did you install the SSRS Integration Add o Dev box?

    2) If you have installed and configured reporting services why are you not using dev2 for deploying your reports.

Can you do a quick test to check whether the installation is done correctly or not? Install Report builder 1.0/ Report builder 2.0 (check here for which version of report builder you should be using and try to build a basic sample report and try to publish/Save to SharePoint document library. If you are successful that means installation has come good.

    Hope this helps.

  • Thanks Again for the information, But still no luck

    1) i changed Secure connection Level from 0 to 2

     2)  Starting i use to work on Dev as a standlalone Moss devlopment server, then i started a project of SSRS with sharepoint inegration and built reports in dev2 and i installed SharePointRS-Addin in dev & dev2, Sp2 in dev2 and followed the microsoft steps to make dev2 as webfront end report server to join the dev farm using this link ( i was successfull till last step of integration after so many errors.

    3) I installed the report bulder 2.0 but this doesnt support for sql server 2005 version, I got following error
The report definition is not valid. Details: The report definition has an invalid target namespace '' which cannot be upgraded. (rsInvalidReportDefinition) & And i didnt found reportbuilder 1.0 to download.

    Thanks Again

  • Hi,

Is it possible to configure and redeploy SSRS on Dev box which is your application server.

There is a similar thread where reporting services workins fine on application server , but not on web front server

I think you SSRS configuration might not have gone successfully. What version of SSRS version are you using?

While configuring the SSRS configuration were you able to grant database acceess

Here are some steps for trobleshooting configuration problem

I also had a similar situation and this is what I did, We have 1 Applicatin Server (Standalone MOSS box) which has its's content database on  SQL server 2005(box).Took another box and installed SSRS 2008 which has basic sharepoint installed. I also installed the reporting services add on on the same box where SSRS 2008 is installed and  everthing seems to work properly.

  • do i need to run the reporting services configuration in dev server also, same like dev2 which is already configured in sharepoint integration mode. ( if it so, i tried in dev server also but fails in sharepoint integration)

dev server contains its own content database

dev2 has it own report server database

i installed follwoing on both servers

    SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services
SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2
Office SharePoint Server 2007  ( dev2 in webfront end and added to dev which is in standalone )
Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services Add-in for Microsoft SharePoint Technologies -

  • Hi,

If you are already using a web front server that is fine but for reporting services you don't need web front server. If you have basic sharepoint installed on the report server should be sufficient.

Please go through this link for more information

For trobleshooting configuration look at this link
