  • Hi,

Just wanted to know if it is possible to install Forefront Client Security Installation on Win XP Pro in a standalone environment. I am a home user and do not have a server. I have one PC with Win XP Pro. I want to use Forefront. Is it possible in this scenario?

Yes you can. As long as you have a valid licence you can run the setup (clientsetup.exe) with the /nomom switch. This will install the client without the momagent and it will use Microsoft update to get all the updates needed.

  • Hi AJ,

Forefront Client Security is sold as a Business Security solution. the only way to install it at home is if your workplace bought licenses for their computers (then you are eligable to install it on a home computer for each license installed on a work computer).

The home version for Forefront Clients Security is Microsoft Onecare which operates on the same engines.

I recommened you test and purchase this one.
