    when i enter the product key message comes back saying key is incorrect. this is the only number i have. any ideas?

    Hi,

     

    Please check if the product key you typed is for Windows 7 and not for other Microsoft products, such as Microsoft Office.

     

    You may also run SLUI 4.exe and follow the wizard to reactivate Windows 7 by contacting Microsoft Activation Center.

     

    If the product key is invalid, please contact your software vendor for replacement.

    Is your Windows 7 retail or OEM? Are you offered an option to activate by phone after the key is rejected? If so, use that option.
