  • Question

  • My computer won't let me download the upgrade advisor.  I get a blank window saying "server can't be found" or something similar.  Can someone help?

  • Hi gerbear65,

Here are some things that have helped others who have reported this kind of problem.

    * Check that you have a connection to the internet - browse a web site.

    * Try again later. Wait and try a third time.

    * Are you behind a firewall? Set your proxy settings to auto detect  - note your previous settings so you can put it back when you're done.

(Internet Explorer, tools, internet options, connections tab, LAN settings)

    * Turn off antivirus/anti-malware programs & firewall programs (again, note your previous settings so you can put it back when you're done)

    I hope this helps.

    Regards, Mike

  • Thanks Mike for your suggestions.  Actually, while reading through other's problems, I came across a suggestion to download an advisor from another website.  I did that and it worked.

    Thanks again!
