Change sitecode/Management point RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I have a client that has a previously decommissioned SCCM environment (2012r2). I have implemented a new environment for them, but the site code/MP need to change for the clients currently in use on the client computers. Is there an easy way to change the site code?

I have tried a client push, which fails since the client is already installed on the computers. I have yet to try a GPO, but thats the next logical step I would assume.

  • You can use push (if you use the "force" option = always install). Don't use a GPO as it will hardcode the sitecode to the registry.

That's very good to know, thank you. Didn't realize it hardcoded it.
