Yippee! Just got MS Project Server 2013 all working, but I have questions... here is #1 RRS feed

  • Question

  • So Project Server is working great, albeit as far as I understand it so far,but I want to check to see if this looks right to folks in the know; do I have all the right services turned on here:

    service list

I suspect I might need Sharepoint Server Search, although I don't have a clue on what that does. Thx again!

  • Hello,

All is summarized in this article: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/12512.sharepoint-2013-service-applications-list.aspx

Depending on your server(s) size (RAM mainly) it's better not to run too much services. Knowing that the search service is the most demanding I think in term of memory, you might read a lot about it's usage before enabling it.

    Hope this helps

  • Yes, very good  - thx! But some of the items are not described, like Visio Service. But I can google :) And thx for the tip on Search. I guess 8gb is not gunna cut it. But this server is not for production, but for a test lab, so I'll give it a try...
