How to delete c:\Documents and Settings folder (127GB) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Just installed Windows 7 Home and then upgraded to Ultimate. After install of some applications, realized the free space is reduced a quite a bit. Ran my program and realized that the hidden C:\Documents and Settings folder takes up 127GB. I have not done any XP mode. Wonder how to get rid of it for image backup?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi,

It is not recommended to delete this folder. Generally, Documents and settings is not a real folder. It is called a junction point and is used for legacy program interface. This is a hidden folder and cannot be accessed.
