Picture Manager 2010 / SharePoint 2007 error: To use this feature you must have one or more of the following applications installed RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am running Windows 7, IE 8,  Office Professional Plus 2010 in addition to SharePoint Designer 2007.

In our SharePoint 2007 environment, when I am in a picture library and I select Actions > Send To I receive the following error:

    Error:

    Microsoft Office Picture Manager
To use this feature you must have one or more of the following applications installed:  Microsoft Office Excel, Microsoft Office Outlook, Microsoft Office PowerPoint or Microsoft Office Word.  Please run your installation CD or contact your administrator.

    Things I've tried

    Uninstalled/Reinstalled/Repaired Office 2010

Uninstalled/Reinstalled SharePoint Designer 2007.  When Designer was uninstalled, I then had no "Send To" choice available under Actions

Not sure what else to try - others in my office are having NO issues with Actions > Send To - none of them have Designer installed.

  • Hi,

1.Please go to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Microsoft Office\Microsoft Office 2010 Tools to check if the picture manager is there and if it is working fine.

    2. Which version of office did others install? Please install office 2007 and check the result.

  • Thanks Savoeurn.

Once I removed SharePoint Designer 2007 and installed Designer 2010 to match my 2010 Office installation - the problem was resolved.
