Subscription Notificaiton combined with Queue, Metric, SLO RRS feed

  • Question

  • Good morning,
I have created a subscription that sends a notice when a VIP Incident is still "Active" after 24 hours. Unfortunately it is sending notifications whether or not the Incident has been resolved/closed. Here are the settings I createdm, anyone got and idea what setting needs to be change?

  • Hi,

So I figured a way around this problem.

    I created a subscription using
When to notify: Periodically notify when objects meet a criteria
Target Class: Service Level Instance Time InformationAdditional Criteria
    Service Level Instance Information
    - Status=Breached, Affected User[Configuration Item] Notes {is Not Null}, Status=Active, or Status=Pending
Recurring Notification: interval 1 day, No end dateThis is working fine

  • Subscription should be:

    When to notify: On change

TargetClass Service Lebel Instance Time Information

    Criteria:

    Change from

    ServiceLevelInstanceInformation Status not equal "warning"

    Change to:

    ServiceLevelInstanceInformation Status equals "warning"

This way to get a notification 12 hours before the SLO will breach.

Otherwise choose "not equal breached" and "equals breached" as the Criteria. This will send a "now it's to late notification" ;-)

    Hope this helps.

  • Would adding the status property to your queue criteria help:

    Status equal to Active

    or Status equal to Pending

However, this might have other implications if you use the queue elsewhere.

  • Thank you Andreas,
I created a new subscription and made the selections you suggested, the only issue I had was it would not let me select the Queue, so I skipped that and completed the Change from/Change to part.

  • Andreas,

This did generate the email but it needs to be recurring till the ticket is resolved. But when I change the Subscription When to Notify to "Periodically notify when object meet a criteria" it only gives me Criteria. There is no Change From or Change To. Any suggestions?

  • Hello Karen,

If you choose "Periodically notify when object meet a criteria", we could not use Change From and Change To.

I would like to suggest you refer to the article below which should be helpful for you:
