Windows 7 Screensaver security RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • I like to set a screensaver with the option that "on resume, show the logon screen".  Can changes to this not be made password dependent?  I find from time to time that someone has unchecked the "on resume ..." box.  After that anyone can resume the session and use my machine.  Annoying and potentially (though not yet I hope) serious.

  • Any administrator can change this setting.  Only grant administrative rights to users who need this ability.

Alternatively, manually lock the PC anytime you step away from it.  You can do this by pressing the Windows Key and the L key at the same time, or by ALT-CTL-DEL then selecting "Lock this computer'.
