O365 Dial Plan - 4-digit call to PBX RRS feed

  • Question

  • In a hybrid infrastructure, when a Skype for Business (inside the network) client tries to call one of the PBX's 4-digits internal extensions is limited by their Dial Plan (O365 Dial Plan) which is not able to normalize this kind of number.

Any way I can work this around?

Does anyone have any experience with this particular scenario?

  • Extension dialing is not currently supported by Cloud PBX. The only way to accomplish what you're asking is to truncate the phone number as it ingresses the PBX. If the PBX cannot manipulate the phone number prior to routing, you will need to either use Lync/Skype for Business Server trunk called/calling number manipulations or a Skype for Business certified SBC/Gateway to manipulate the numbers before the call is routed to the PBX.

  • Hi,

Skype for Business Online users get their PSTN connectivity through Enterprise Voice on your on-premises Skype for Business Server deployment, with Skype for Business call control in the cloud.

If the O365 dial plan not support the extension number, then you may need to modify the extension number to the DID number and update to client users.

Then on Skype for Business Server On-Premises and PBX side, you need modify these DID number translate to 4 digit numbers either by SFB Server side or PBX\PSTN Gateway side like Phil_Sharp said above.

    Best Regards
