Multiple Number for Single User. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Experts,

Is it possible to give multiple number (PSTN) for a single Lync Enterprise Voice Enabled user?

If yes, how to configure the same.

    Thanks,

    Santhosh

  • Hi Santhosh,

Within Lync, each user can have only one LineURI (external PSTN number).  There is an ability to use a "private line" which could also be an external PSTN number which is used more in a boss/admin scenario.

There are some configurations that you can do by using SBCs in order to manipulate ingress PSTN numbers to go to one LineURI.

  • Another way is to create multiple users with the numbers you need and setup forwarding for all of them to one user that should have all of those numbers.

  • Private telephone lines can only be configured with the Lync Server Management Shell. You cannot configure private telephone lines with the Lync Server Control Panel.

For the details about private telephone lines, see http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg412728(v=ocs.14).aspx
