Codec Issues RRS feed

  • Question

  • I hope to get a answer soon. Been running Vista Beta for about a month now and all seems to work fine(after about 5 re-installs of it ) , even got my wireless cards working yeepee :) However after installing pretty much every video codec known to man I still cannot get Windows Media Player to play any of my .avi ,mpeg files. I keep getting the error message that a codec is missing and need to get it from wmplugings.com (or whatever) Every other media player I use works fine but I have always enjoyed Media Player and like to use it again , instead of havin to boot back to XP Pro to watch my movies. Same goes for Media Center, still cannot use that , keeps poppingup with the message"Codec Error". Does Anyone have a good idea on how to fix this or what I am doing wrong.

    A response would be verywelcomed
