Make Office 2010 default program when installed alongside Office 365 ProPlus

I am currently managing a Europe-wide Office 365 implementation. Our intention is to install Office 2016 and keep Office 2010 installed also. Preliminary tests have shown that when both versions are installed, 2016 always supersedes 2010 as default program. Even when 2010 is set as the default program.

Is there any way around this?

By default, the last installed/configured/repaired Office program will be set as the default program.

So probably, you might want to push an Office 2010 repair task in the environment after deploying Office 2016.
