Office 365 - OME - Decrypt Message RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

We have setup OME in Office 365 and are able to sucessfully send encrypted emails. We have an issue with one recipient in one organisation. Everyone else is able to receive and decrypt the messages. They too are using Office 365. When the user tries to decrypt emails in Outlook they receive the following message; The logged in users could not be authenticated please check your credentials.

They have created a new outlook profile, but still no joy. Any thoughts why this one user can''t decrypt messages in the Outlook client. It does work in OWA.

    David.

  • Hi David,

In Outlook 2016, please click File > Office Account, under User Information, check if you are using the work email account for sign in.

Open Word 2016, click File > Office Account, click Sign Out. Then restart Word 2016, click Sign In with your work account. Restart Outlook 2016, check if you can decrypt the email properly.

    Best Regards,
    Winnie Liang

  • Hello Winnie,

Thank you for your reply. I have checked what account both Outlook and Word are signed in with and it is all correct.

    Any other thoughts?

    David.

  • Winnie,

Any other thoughts?  Just like David we tried the same thing and it doesn't appear to be working still.

    Thanks,
