How can i setup NTP server master as AD and NTP server as slave

  • Hi,

    In my environment  i am using 1 AD(NTP Master) and other 10 server's. Now i add one more  NTP server as slave. How can i configure NTP(Slave) server without internet connection.

    anyone have any idea or experience doing such setup.

    Appreciate if anyone have advice on this..

  • Not clear on your question.  Within a domain, the domain controller with the PDC FSMO role is the NTP source for the domain.  All domain members synchronize to its time.  You do not configure domain members to sync to anything else.

    So is the purpose of setting up another NTP to use it for as a time source for other systems that are not part of the domain?  If so, simply configure the time service to configure your NTP (slave) to point to the DC with the PDC FSMO role.  You did not mention what operating system you slave will be running.  If Windows, configure with W32time.  If Linux, that is beyond the scope of this forum.
