vista 64 installing 4GB help RRS feed

  • ive just tried to add an extra 2GB (total 4GB) of ram to my system and when i boot up into windows vista 64 all i see it the loading bar for about 1 minute then it restarts!! But if i boot up in safe mode it works fine, also i have dual boot up in XP and the boots up normaly but it only shows 2.87GB ram, what happened to the rest any thing to do with the fact is an 32 bit OS?

    oh and the ram is the same version and timmings!

    Please boot with 2GB RAM and then try the following update:


    (KB929777) Error message when you try to install Windows Vista on a computer that uses more than 3 GB of RAM: "STOP 0x0000000A"
