I NEED A PROCEDURE TO RENEW A SELF SSL CERTIFICATE WHICH IS DUE TO EXPIRE SOON ON OUR EXCHANGE 2003 SERVER , I NEED A STEP BY STEP GUIDE AS MY EXPERIENCE IS QUITE LIMITED IN THIS AREA THE CURRENT CERTIFICATE IS FOR OWA

As far as I can recall, you need to get a new certificate and install it on your server. Go to your IIS console - Default Website - Properties - Directory Security. Under Secure Communication choose Server Certificate. From therer you create a new certificate request, choose "Prepare the request now, but send it later" enter the neccessary data and create c certreq.txt file. Then connect to your server whith Certificate Services installed and follow the instructions to create your new certificate.
