how can i look at previous email history of disable account through Exchange server 2010 or Gpmc RRS feed

Answers

  • Disabling the AD account means that the user cannot log into their email but email can still be delivered to the mailbox and you can also grant yourself rights to add the mailbox into Outlook. To do this, use the below command:

Get-Mailbox mailboxname | Add-ADPermission -User admin -AccessRights FullAccess

  • Hi ishtiaqawan,

    Thank you for your question.

By my understanding, if we want to view the email history of disable email account, the disable email account could connect to the AD account which is the former AD account or a new AD account, then we could view the email history of disable email account. We could refer to the following link to connect AD account to disable email account:

    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj863439(v=exchg.150).aspx

If there are any questions regarding this issue, please be free to let me know.

    Best Regard,

    Jim

  • This forum is for Exchange development questions. Your question is more of an Exchange admin question, and would be better served in the admin forums on TechNet. I'll move it for you.

  • If you had only disable the AD Object but no the mailbox this one still operational and the only way to search email history is getting access by OWA (if the service was enabled for the mbx) now if you also disabled the Mbx I'm affraid you are not getting any mail.

    1. you could grant yourself rights to the mailbox and then view it via Outlook and here are a few links that can help https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/ff381460.aspx and https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/Aa996343%28v=EXCHG.141%29.asp
    2. Or use a 3rd party product like Lucid8's DigiScope http://www.lucid8.com/product/digiscope.asp that can access the mailbox forensically from the Production server or from an offline copy of the DB that holds the MB

Search, Recover, & Extract Mailboxes, Folders, & Email Items from Offline Exchange Mailbox and Public Folder EDB's and Live Exchange Servers or Import/Migrate direct from Offline EDB to Any Production Exchange Server, even cross version i.e. 2003 --> 2007 --> 2010 --> 2013 with Lucid8's DigiScope
