remove other user icons from logon screen RRS feed

  • Question

  • For security reasons I would like to remove the other user option from the logon screen.  I am running Windows SteadyState 2.5 with the Welcome Screen option turned on. Is it possible ?

    Thank you.

  • Hi t-4-2:

You can remove the user option from the logon screen by following steps:

click start-----Run-----input “regedit” in blanks-----click OK

     In Registry Editor,  find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\SpecialAccounts\UserList

If the userlist keys you want to hide  do not exist, create a DWORD registry value and name it as the name of user you want to hide. (for example: create a DWORD named user1). Set this value date to “0”, thus the user will hide on welcome screen.
