Change Bios Boot sequence to install Windows 10 Pro RRS feed

  • Running Windows 7, have usb boot drive with windows 10 pro install, have to change BIOS to boot from USB. How do I do that?

  • It depends what type of device you are running. HP have a bios utility tool which allows you to deploy bios settings via a command line.

  • Restart your computer and wait for that first screen to pop up. Often, it’ll say something like “Press F12/F2/DEL  to Choose Boot Device” 

    Use the arrow key to select USB drive as the 1st boot drive and press Enter.

  • 1) Open the website for the computer or motherboard manufacturer > support > enter the product or serial number or model > select the operating system > view drivers > post a URL or share link into the thread.

    2) Open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:

    3) sfc /scannow

    4) systeiminfo

    5) When these have completed > right click on the top bar or title bar of the administrative command prompt box > left click on edit then select all > right click on the top bar again > left click on edit then copy > paste into the thread
