IE nobrowsercontextmenu reg key created via gp prference

    Question

  • Hi All,

recently i have created a gpo preference rek key to disable users ie right click option. i have created a regkey Dword NoBrowserContextMenu with value 1. and it is working fine in all ous except one. when i checked, i found reg key properties common tab there is a tick  i have given "run in logged on users security context". when i removed this tick its works.. but this same tick i have given in another policy there its working fine .. can anyone give guide why it is not worked in some OUs and others are working fine ? what is the actual use of this " run in logged on users security context  option" tab ?

Which exact full registry path did you use? If it contains "\policies\",
the user has no write access.

If you create files or folders through GPP, there's the "Owner". If you
tick this, the owner is the current user. If you don't, the owner is SYSTEM.

If you connect network shares or printers or if you access UNC paths in
GPP, this ensures that you use the user account for remote
authentication. If you untick, it will use the computer account.
