Downgrade from Vista Home Premium to Xp Professional? RRS feed

  • Question

I have bought a Toshiba Satellite A215-SP4017, it comes with Windows Vista Home Premium. I don't want it, I want to use Windows Xp Professional.

    Question 1:

Do I have the right for a license of Windows Xp?

    Question 2:

Where can I find all the drivers for the right work of my laptop?

I hope somebody could help me.

P.S.: My native language is spanish.

You will have to contact Toshiba to see if your purchase included downgrade rights and if it does, how you would about downgrading the same. I am not sure if they will be able to generate an XP license now. As for Xp drivers, here is the toshiba site. You should be able to navigate it to see if Toshiba has Xp drivers for your model.

  • Sorry, but Vista Home Premium is not eligible for "downgrade rights".

  • Why VIsta HoOme Premium is not eligible?

I think that is unjustice, cause I'm also paying a license, neither Toschiba or Microsoft can force me to use any OS, right?

Is there something that I can do?

I don't think Microsoft would like people using Unlicensed copies of their OS.

    Thanks for your help.

Why would you spend the money to upgrade from Vista Home Premium to Vista Business (which is not even a supported upgrade path)?  If you are really intent on downgrading to Windows XP, purchase a copy of Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP3 32-bit for System Builders - OEM and perform a Windows XP clean install.

  • Ok, I have contacted TOSHIBA and Microsoft regarding this downgrading from Vista Home Premium to XP Pro.  They both say to go to the other and neither will cop out that they are the cause of the problem.  HOWEVER I have found out it is a directive from Microsoft.  They are the communist creeps that are dictating to us what we can and cannot do with our own computers.  I Own XP Pro and hate the fact I cannot use a better program in my laptop due to the Communistic Microsoft Company.  All of the Vista programs are junk and our schools do not use that program at all so it is making it difficult to do any homework on my own laptop for my classes.  Colleges don't all use the terrible VISTA program as they are smarter than Microsoft that is for sure.  I was told by TOSHIBA I could downgrade to XP Pro but they lied.  I just hate the communistic ways Microsoft is working.  The BBB is the place to go to complain regarding the Microsoft Corp. unfair practices.  I think it is:

http://www.bbb.org or http://www.bbb.com  Look it up if these do not work, complain regarding the communistic way Microsoft Corp is working as they are totally wrong.
