Breadcrumbs and Managed Navigation RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've recently configured managed navigation in a publishing environment in 2013/O365 but breadcrumbs don't seem to work at all with this navigation type. How do you get breadcrumbs to work with managed navigation?

  • Hi LisaSPA,

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to use Breadcrumbs when using managed navigation in SharePoint 2013 Online.

Please open your SharePoint 2013 online site with SharePoint 2013 Designer, open the master page and search for the term “GlobalBreadCrumbNavPopout” or “ms-breadcrumb-dropdownBox”. Then change the visible attribute to “true” and remove the tag  style=”display:none;”.

More information, please refer to the link:

In addition, this issue is related to Office 365 SharePoint Online, you can also create a new thread on Office 365 forum, more experts will assist you with this issue.

    I hope this helps.

  • Hi Wendy,

Thank you for this information, this is a good start. We're using a custom master page and I don't see either of those two terms in there. Interesting that this is SharePoint 2013 Online specific!

Thanks for the recommendation to post to the O365 community, oddly I can't log in there with the credentials I use to log in here.

Is there any official article regarding this? I take it this is just specific to Managed Nav in SharePoint Online and it doesn't affect any other versions?

    Thanks,

    Lisa

  • Hello

Try this SharePoint Online Document List Folder Navigation Breadcrumbs Using JavaScript Display Template

JavaScript Display template for your SharePoint site, creates Breadcrumb navigation.

    Good luck!
