Windows 10 S Specific security featues RRS feed

  • Question

  • Besides not running apps from outside the store and system win32 apps, are there any specialized security changes/enhancements specifically for Windows 10 S? Like kernel-level changes, app virtualization, etc.?

    Thanks

  • For average users, install the latest Windows updates, enable BitLocker and turn on Windows Defender have been enough for security protection.

If you are an IT admin or a geek, there are also many Windows 10 built-in security feature worth studying, such as:

    SmartScreen

    Credential Guard

    Device Guard

    Enterprise certificate pinning

    Blocking Untrusted Fonts

    UEFI Secure Boot

    Early Launch Antimalware (ELAM)

    ……

  • No.

Home edition only supplies basic security feature, including automatic update and Windows Defender.

Other security features need Pro edition at least, Enterprise and Education edition have all functions of security.
