Unable to install hyper-v on windows 2012 R2

  • i am trying to install hyper-v on window 2012  R2  server but getting the error : 0*80070005

  • 0x80070005 generally = access denied. I'd check you're logged on as local administrator. From cmd.exe

    whoami /groups

    and check that your a member of BUILTIN\Administrators

  • Yea, you have to be a local admin.

    Hyper-V is not an application...  The Management Console is, but not the Role.
