How to access remote system properties like OS and Processor information? RRS feed

  • Hi

    I need help to get the properties of another system present in my network . I tried with accesssing Remote registry (using the OpenRemoteBaseKey) and WMI method .But is both the cases I get some security exceptions . Please suggest me some othere method to get the System properties.

  • Run PSExec [1] from Sysinternals and run the reg commands to get the data or run msinfo32 to get the data.

  • Hi,

    You can use the Performance Monitor to get some information from remote station. Start Performance Monitor by following steps:

    1.       Click Start button, type “Performance Monitor” in search bar. Press Enter.

    2.       Click Monitor Tools , chose performance Monitor. Click Add  button to add some items you need.
