If the document is stored and shared over SharePoint or OneDrive, we might be able to set a notification to notify you that someone has made a change to the document. Otherwise, I'm afraid Microsoft Word doesn't provide such build-in functionality.
However, this sounds a good idea. I'd recommend you submit a feedback regarding this via the
UserVoice forum, which is the most direct channel our product group utilizes to collect suggestions and ideas from our customers. Hope this feature could be available in future release :)
