KMS Office 2013 Volume Activation RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi there,

I'm having trouble getting Office 2013 to activate on clients using the KMS key installed on my second DC (Server2012).

If I run slmgr on my DC you can see I have 404 requests:

But on clients it says count reported by KMS server is not high enough...even though it should only need 5?

Could anyone shed some light on the situation?

    Thanks

Answers

  • Hi

This issue occurs because the KMS pool contains less than 5 client computers.

To work around this problem, increase the number of client computers in the KMS pool to five or more client computers.

Note To determine how many client computer are currently in the KMS pool on the KMS host, at a command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:

    Slmgr.vbs -dli

When the KMS pool contains five or more client computers, try to activate KMS by using either the Office activation wizard or VAMT.

    Refer to following link:

We may also use the Multiple Activation Key (MAK) volume activation, it works properly for small groups of clients.
