  • Question

  •         How do I work offline in Microsoft project professional 2010.

How do I disable it if I have chosen to work offline?

What is the meaning of this message?
    Error message
    – Unable to display the project from the project server.

    Possible reasons:

You have chosen to work offline.

    General network connectivity issue.

The project server is currently not available.

You do not have sufficient permissions to open project(s) from the Project Server.

  • Ankit,

Working offline allows you keep the project checked-out, and working with local cache version, without syncing changes with the server.

See this link for more details: http://www.projectserversupport.com/2010/workingwithoffline.htm

To undo work offline, navigate to File >> Info and say Connect to Server.

As for the error message, I think you are not able to connect to project server. Log in as the local computer profile, and confirm your project server account has been set correctly.

  • In project professional

Bottom Left had side on your screen there is a small Glob icon with red cross, if you click on it you will get option to connect to Server

Navigae to backstage and you can change the status to online by selecting Work offline option
