  • Nobody can answer your question. Rather I would like to say Nobody from Microsoft is allowed to speak about date of release :)

It's supposed to be out by H2 2011.

  • Quote from the above "Nobody from Microsoft is not allowed to speak about" means "everybody from Microsoft is allowed" :) or am I (as a non native English speaking person) misinterpreting the English language.

    No official date yet.

My optimistic best guess "by the november 2011 timeframe the release date should be known"  based on a variety of Ms organized events.

    Kind regards,
    Alain VDP.

Contact your Microsoft representative if you have one, they will be able to keep you posted on the release time for the ConfigMgr 2012 product.

  • Could the date be in the Name :-)

  • Haha!  If the date were in the name of MS products, I'd be confused running Server 2008, SCCM 2007, Exchange 2003 & Windows 7 in the same world.

  • From my experience with SMS 2003 and SCCM 2007, wait for the full version plus the service pack before you start deploying it for your clients.

So this is how urban myths are born?

  • Lol @SMS Marshall

SMS/SCCM is a very powerful yet problematic product from MS. It can do lots of things for IT yet requires too much admin and error fixing.

I have used similar apps from other vendors that do some/most of what SCCM does and all of them are much easier to deploy and manage.

I'm sure the SCCM 2012 will come with some exciting new features and its own set of mgmt issues. Make no mistake, i will deploy it and support customers that wish to use it. But there's no need to rush into it.
