  • Hi,

Please set the Screen Saver (Control Panel -> Appearance and Personalization -> Change screen saver -> change the option -> click OK), then you will see the registry key, but following registry keys are most relevant to screen saver.

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop]

    "ScreenSaveActive"

    "ScreenSaverIsSecure"

    "SCRNSAVE.XE"

    "ScreenSaveTimeOut"

If you set Screen Saver but the registry key is still not in registry, please try to export the registry key from other PC which is the same version of Windows as yours, then copy and import the registry key  to your PC to see if it can work.

Here are steps to export the registry key on other PC.

1.Type regedit in search box, then press Enter.

    2. Find the registry key, right-click it, choose Export.

    3. Then save it.

Here are steps to import the registry key.

1.Type regedit in search box, then press Enter.

    2. Right-click File on the top, choose Import.

    3. Then import the registry key.

And you could also try to use Local Group Policy to force a specific screen saver. Here are steps.

    1. Click Start, click Run, type gpedit.msc, and then click OK.

    2. Navigate to

        User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Personalization

    3. Right-click Force specific screen saver on right panel, choose Edit.

    4. Then enable it, type the name of the file that contains the screen saver (If the screen saver file is not in the %Systemroot%\System32 directory, type the fully qualified path to the file.) in Screen saver executable name.
