How to implement Learning Management System in SharePoint 2007 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

I'm looking forward to implement a Learning Management System in SharePoint 2007, where allow administrator to create questions for assessment, user able to answer and get to know the marks/results at the end of the assessment. It is similar with SharePoint Survey but Survey not able to verify the answer by user.

Perhaps any third party tool can help, I tried integrate SharePoint Learning Kit from codeplex, but having problem on add in questions.

Alternative way for me is to create custom page and custom list, all the questions and answer is stored inside custom list, then create some logics to validate the answer given by user.

Any advises or guides are very appreciate, thank you in advanced.

  • I'd really think the SharePoint Learning Kit is the best way to go with this, it supports the exact functionality you require, and it's compatible with industry standard (SCORM) content.

If you go the custom route you will have to spend a lot of time implementing your requirements, and face the possibility of having to continually add more functionality down the road as new requirements are added.

I think you would spend much less time getting the SLK to work correctly, and have a far more flexible and robust solution.

  • I'm going to agree with Steven here (kudos on a great name btw..).

If you can detail the exact problem that you're having here, the community will be ideally placed to help.

  • Hi Steven, thank you for your respond, actually I already done with the integration of SLK into my SP2007,below are the problem I encountered:

    1) How to create question in SLK?

    2) What kind of question is allow to create? (e.g: drop down choices, checkbox, true or false, or textbox)

    3) How SLK work? there is active active, ready to grade, overdue and so on which confused me.

There is GettingStarted.pdf guide along with the download from http://slk.codeplex.com/, but just not explain fully how to create question.

    Thank you in advanced

  • You can't BOTH close a thread by marking a post as an answer and ALSO then ask questions which indicate that you want more details before the problem is solved,

I've therefore unmarked the post you marked - the alternative was to delete your post with the questions.
